Coincidence?

Today's Internet hot topic: Google Trends, which provides a database for who's looking up what the most.

Think America is the world's most oversexed country? Perhaps, but when it comes to Web searches, Pakistanis lead the globe in requesting the word "sex" via Google, followed by Egypt, Viet Nam, Iran and Morocco. What do most of those countries have in common? Plenty of governmental oppression (by the way, Saudi Arabia ranks 8th, followed by Turkey).

What about "gay sex"? The Phillipenes comes in first, with Saudi Arabia trailing in fourth place. The U.S. ranks seventh.

"Horse sex?" Must be big in Pakistan, with more searches than runners-up India and Turkey combined.

"Fisting?" It's a Norwegian thing, apparently. No Muslim countries rate in this top 10.

So is the Middle East the world's most oversexed (er, undersexed) region in the world? Google Trends isn't conclusive, particularly when you consider Americans are a little more Web-savvy. In other words, we're more prone to look up specific sex acts instead of "sex" in general.

Overall, though, Europe appears to the kinkiest continent.

  4. I did what the Pakistanis do: I Googled horse sex and found an ancient Kama Sutra carving. Although I'm guessing their pursuits aren't artistically based.

    Horse sex??
    Well, we asked.
I'm not even going to comment on the fisting. Don't people in Norway have anything better to do?
