The devil's right hand

More extremist musings, this time from gun freak Wayne LaPierre, president of the National Rifle Association. Wayne has a new tome out, subtly titled "The Global War on Your Guns: Inside the U.N. Plan to Destroy the Bill of Rights." I'll let the book jacket do the talking --

The United Nations wants your guns. They want all of them-now-and they've found a way to do it. In fact, the U.N. is so cocksure it can commandeer the Second Amendment that it chose the Fourth of July, 2006, to hold its global gun ban summit in New York City. If you think there's no way an armed U.N. platoon of blue helmets can knock on your door to take your guns, this book just became your next must-read.

Strange, since even Democrats have abandoned gun conrol. This may be inconsistent of me ideologically, but I'm all for stricter weapons restrictions. It confounds how we are more concerned with outlawing offensive speech than guns that can fire 600 rounds per minute.

  1. Even the most paranoid gun owners in this country have to realize that, in the short-to-medium term, the NRA has won the "gun control" war.

They've triumphed so thoroughly that Florida and Colorado both now have laws on the books making it legal to shoot people whom you feel threaten you, even if the person isn't armed.
