Caught a new Bette Davis documentary on TCM last night, which reminded me that I'm due another viewing of "All About Eve" and "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?" in particular. Her way-past-prime performance of "I've Written a Letter to Daddy" in the latter film is creepy as hell (and if you're wondering what exactly qualifies as "camp," watch that scene).
Can't think of any leading lady as willing to shuck her vanity -- on screen, at least. Now there was a dame!
