It's official: the ass-kicking, humorless female heroine has become a cliche. And I'm no sexist, as I find the the ass-kicking, humorless male hero just as trite. But now that he's retired to the governor's office, or B movies, the ladies have the floor.
So no, I won't be seeing "Ultraviolet" or "V for Vendetta." Natalie Portman and her shaved dome are going to have to save the world without me, grrrl power be damned! And here I thought the nineties had ended!
