Your life really needs excitement if you're watching The People's Choice Awards tonight.
Carrying the designation as the lamest of the awards shows --- worse even than The Internet Movie Posters Awards and the Grammys --- is no small feat, but the PCA claims it, largely because it's voted on by "everday folks just like you and me." Collectively, "the people" have pretty awful taste. For example, they've already narrowed down the "Best Movie" race to three; Will Smith's "Hitch" is among those finalists. I guess "Aeon Flux" came out too late.
And I've never even heard of the host, some Aussie who has a talk show after Letterman. Was John Davidson unavailable?
