It's an arch example, but one you're sure to hear repeated -- a bit more subtly, I suspect -- in congressional races around the country.
Republican challenger Vernon Robinson has a new campaign ad alleging that incumbent Brad Miller (D-NC) "voted to allow ... illegals to burn the American flag while waving the Mexican flag."
Surely you remember the "amnesty for flag burning illegals" bill?
And it gets worse. According to the ad, Miller "sponsored a bill to let American homosexuals bring their foreign homosexual lovers to this country on a visa."
It concludes, "(i)f Miller had his way America would be nothing but one big fiesta for illegal aliens and homosexuals. But if you elect Vernon Robinson, that party's over."
I bet he's soft on pedophile illegals, too. Somewhere, Lester Maddox and Orval Faubus are offering hearty attaboys.
Listen to the full ad here. Note the oh-so-clever use of a mariachi band in the background.
I can't believe that in such a civilized modern country there are still intolerant, bigoted, ignorant and indignant fools such as yourself. Yeah I don't agree with Mexicans getting away with not paying taxes but there not exactly taking away the job you would even consider applying for. I bet your idea of shingles is a disease prevented by a shot. Also, if striaght people can bring in their loved significant other on a visa why can't gay people either? This is a country for the people, of the people, and by the people. Though, unfortunately, it is your right to be an intolerate S.O.B. with the I.Q. of a grain of sand... that doesn't mean that you have the right to deny a group of people their happiness just because they're different from you. Next you'll spew some crap about how Women shouldn't vote and African-Americans should be in the fields. Keep you Dragon jargon to yourself you ovezealous two-bit hack. If intelligence was being sold at the market you would probably wait to buy it until its marked half-off at the Piggly-Wiggly. I'm sorry that's an insult to Piggly-Wiggly, I apoligize to them for that.
